About the Artist

Joël Peirano was born in the French Mediterranean city of Hyeres les Palmiers. He grew up in Almanarre, a rural seaside community.

From a very young age Joël felt himself drawn to art, creativity and invention.
At 19 he accepted the opportunity to work on French cruise ships. During a cruise in Alaska he met his future wife, and they settled in San Francisco.

Together they founded PEIRANO & PEIRANO INTERIORS, a creative design studio specializing in the design and installation of custom architectural finishes.
Under Joël’s art direction, the firm gained success for its innovation and creativity serving corporate clients in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

Joël began painting his own deeply personal art at this time, developing self-taught style and technique. He continues to explore his vision of painting as language, seeking to evoke the mysteries and power of the emotional and abstract expression.
